Every damn addon spotlight has these stupid posts and it's getting old. So stop with those wannabe clever jabs at "no changes" and go back to grinding your artifact power. It's all about the choice.Īnd finally, addons that provide additional data (like quests, dungeon maps and loot.) just save you an alt+tab to Wowhead to look them up, which most sane people would do anyway, because when the data is available, might as well use it and alt+tabbing all the time breaks immersion. Anyway the thing with addons is you can turn them off any time you want, while you can't do this with integrated features that were inspired by addons, that's why some "purists" hate on those features. What a pleasure to raid-lead pallies who refuse to install PallyPower. On the other hand, there are (masochistic?) purists who refuse to touch any addons, even in TBC some people would consider them as "cheats". Also as many people already said, addons existed since the beginning of WoW and were part of the "vanilla experience" for some, including me, as I think the default UI sucks and couldn't imagine playing with no mods. We want Vanilla WOW, but with lots of addons! But we do not want the Blizzard provided stuff that partially replaced those addons because we want Vanilla!Īddons cannot change the game, they can only change the UI, which some people love and some people hate. It’s not perfect but it’s fairly accurate and useful. Looking forward to the next article that makes me go 'Holy sh*t, I remember that!'. It's fun to have no memory of that month and yet having everything come back small piece by small piece by these articles. I have absolutely no recollection in my memory of all the stuff I did in that single month, yet by seeing Atlasloot I remember using that back then.

I started playing during Cataclysm till now, but I remember being invited in Vanilla by a friend and played for a single month. This is a $%^& layout still having remnants of retail Comment by Waterbuffel on T16:42:32-05:00 Great post though, nice to see how it looked back then. Now only if they kept AtlasLoot on retail up to date. Comment by Agentkillerlee on T15:38:14-05:00
